The Literary Piano

About

"Light-fingered highjinks..."

I am a writer and scholar, currently based in Melbourne, Australia.

My most urgent subjects include: modernity, mobility, the uncanny, objects (as collections; as fetishes; as mnemonics; as clues), women's lives, national literatures, art, writing, language, and poetry. Sometimes I post drafts of my own poetry.

The title of this blog comes from an early name for the typewriter, an invention (like the printing press; like the internet) that has forever changed the way we live and write.
